The family adventure

Valentin Leflaive is an invitation to discover the best of what Champagne has to offer, an excursion into terroirs and memories. It makes any tasting an unforgettable experience, because above all, it is the fruit of a family adventure.

A journey through time

The Valentin Leflaive story has its roots in the history of the Leflaive family in Puligny-Montrachet, which has been guided for several centuries by a love for Chardonnay and Pinot Noir and the search for precision in the expression of Burgundy terroirs.

Daring to take risks has become the hallmark of Olivier Leflaive. Since 2015, a new chapter has been written in Oger, at the heart of the great terroirs of the Côte des Blancs, that of a Champagne de Lieux. Olivier chose the first name of his son Valentin, born in 2007, for this new, fresh and slightly offbeat project.

    Off the beaten track

Maison Valentin Leflaive needed to find a playground to express itself. It was with a breath of freedom that the family embarked in 2015 on a journey of initiation from Puligny-Montrachet in Burgundy, historic headquarters of Maison Olivier Leflaive, to Oger in Champagne.

“With Olivier, we wanted to explore new horizons linked to the high-quality wines that we enjoy tasting.
The Champagne region proved to be an obvious destination. We know the grape varieties, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, and the notion of terroir is the basis of what we cultivate at Olivier Leflaive. This project of creating Champagne de Lieux makes sense for us as well as for our customers.”

    PUTS DOWN ROOTS

In 2020, Valentin Leflaive was approved as a Négociant-Manipulant and moved to Oger. In an authentic winery with a traditional ageing cellar dug into the chalk, Valentin Leflaive took up residence. It starts from the origin of the taste of the plots of Champagne. Jean Soubeyrand orchestrates this adventure with Élysé Brigandat, cellar master.
